They worshipped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.
LUKE 24 v 52-53.

They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of the bread and prayers. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their numbers daily those who were being saved.
ACTS 2 v 42, 46 - 47

Our Sunday morning service at Emmanuel Hall begins at 11:00 am and incorporates an optional Sunday School for children of 4 to 10 years. A room is available for parents with very young children if they wish to take them out of the service for a while. The service is relayed to this room. Children over ten years stay in the main meeting and are usually given a worksheet to help them follow the preaching. Occasionally the service is followed by a lunch.

The evening service begins at 6:30pm and is followed by light refreshments.

The preaching at both services normally takes the form of an exposition of a Bible passage and is consecutive from week to week.

We celebrate the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of each month, either morning or evening. Visitors are welcome to this service but we ask that only those who are baptised believers and who are in membership with a church take bread and wine when it is passed round.

Also on Sunday on alternate weeks, there is an afternoon Bible class for teenagers.

Roy
I was born in Liverpool into a family where going to church wasn't the thing to do. When I was in my early thirty's and apparently quite successful, I began to realise that possessions are not all that there is to life. I had a wife, a young family and had a good job but there was no real satisfaction. One day after a conversation with a neighbour, I began to read the Bible and I discovered that I had no satisfaction because I wasn't right with God. I learnt that I was a sinner whom God had the right to condemn but that instead of just writing me off, God had actually sent His own Son to die on the cross in my place. I soon asked God to forgive my sins and give me a new direction in my life. This He did and I now have the joy and peace of knowing that He is with me at all times.
