Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven
and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples
of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything
I have commanded you. And surely I am with you to the very end of
the age”.
MATTHEW 28 v 18-20 .
While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit
said, “ set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to
which I have called them”. So after they had fasted and prayed,
they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
ACTS 13 v 2-3.
And they sang a new song; “you are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood
you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people
and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve
our God, and they will reign on the earth.
REVELATION 5 v 9-10.
At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky,
and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son
of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.
And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will
gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens
to the other.
MATTHEW 24 v 30-31.

Michael and Barbara (with
their son Matthew, born 2005) live in Rakops in the
Kalahari Desert, Central Botswana. They are working
as Christian missionaries alongside John Walters who
has been in Botswana for many years. Under John's ministry
a church has been formed and the believers encouraged
to support themselves by establishing various projects.
The church runs a bakery, a leather workshop
and a creche which also provide a platform for Christian
witness to the community. Michael uses his practical
skills in these projects and Barbara is involved in
various AIDS programmes in the village.

Though
not a member of this church Matthew Gamston is supported in
prayer in his ministry among the poor people of Manila. Matthew
works with Grace Baptist Mission.
Fiona
Steward works in Bordeaux among the university students and
is part of a team of UFM missionaries who are based at a local
church in the town.
Fiona is not a member of our church but we pray
regularly for her and help with her financial support.
The church supports the work of The Beach Team
and over the years young people from the church have participated
in the summer missions. One of our members serves as treasurer
of the mission.
Some of our members meet together monthly to
pray for Christian missionary work in South East Asia (OMF)
and another of our members serves on the home council of the
Red Sea Mission Team. Other church members have their own
personal interests in various other mission organisations.
For many years the church has conducted
children's missions at nearby Greenleys and we hold regular
evangelistic events at Emmanuel Hall or in private homes.
Two or three times a year we set up a market stall at the
Agora shopping area.

Jane
I grew up in a church-going family, but it was only as a student
that I came into contact with real Christians. I was already reading
the Bible for myself; I was somehow drawn to its words. Over a period
of time I heard its message explained, and God brought me to trust
in Jesus Christ as my own Saviour and Lord. I realise now that God
used the difficult things of life to cause me to seek Him. I live
on a council estate near Wolverton, looking after my family; it's
good to have time to be involved in the daily life and work of the
church.
